Hi Gregor,
We all possess the ability to return ourselves to a state of wholeness and healing. But most of us who develop chronic illness or conditions of emotional pain do so -- on some level -- for a reason. Reasons could include as a defense, as an exploration, as a manifestation of an energy dynamic, old habits and patterns. Also, tangible things like environmental factors, diet and other lifestyle factors also have an effect.
The healing process usually uncovers lots of old "issues", dynamics, and patterns. Welcoming these and then allowing yourself to let go of them aids in healing. Another thing that comes up are inner core beliefs -- although we possess the ability to heal completely, instantly, if we hold an inner belief that runs counter to that, we'll keep it from happening.
Dis-ease comes from the sense or belief that your present state is less than whole, less than perfect. Welcoming that imperfect state allows true healing to begin to take place.
All that said, healing is a highly individual process. Reasons for developing disease will vary from person to person, as will steps necessary for healing.
I hope this helps a little. Because this is such an individual thing, I could likely help you more in a personal session that would help you get to the heart of things.
Warmly,
Karen
