This is day 5 of my fast for Darfur. It all came about last week when I read about Mia Farrow's fast on Causecast (where I'm a contributing writer). I couldn't let go of the idea, and I kept getting messages that fasting was going to benefit me, so last Saturday I began, still not quite knowing where it was going, yet letting my inner guidance help me to where I needed to be. It's been an amazing journey. Every day I've been walking in the forest near my home, spending that quiet hour with my guides, my higher self (essence), and nature, walking and listening. One of the main things I'm taking from this is a huge validation of something Polaris says:
I mean, now I GET this. I can feel — truly feel — the changes taking place within me. I feel the connection to my guides. I feel nature all around me. On Facebook I called this a mindful fast, and for me it has been. It's been a wonderful exercise in feeling who I am on a physical level. I also feel community more deeply. Until today, I didn't know there was a community of other people around the world fasting in solidarity. Now I feel them. Obviously, I also feel the million or so LIVING this in Darfur, but I always felt that. Every day I feel the collective grief and anguish and joy and fear of the 7 billion of us that are on this planet; how can any of us with any degree of wakefulness not feel that? Collectively we possess so much compassion... Also on a personal basis, I'm enjoying a much more personal relationship with my guides. Ironically, although this is something I teach other people, up until now I have resisted regular communication with them, though I would always connect from time to time. I always felt like I needed to face whatever-it-was by myself, that getting help was a weakness. Now I see how this makes me stronger, and now it's a priority. There's so much joy in tis connection! I wrote over at Causecast today about ways people can get involved with the Darfur movement, so check that out when you have a moment. Some of the things are totally easy to do (seriously: filling out a few online form fields? clicking "send"? we can all do that), but I also invite you to join in with your own fasting experience if you wish. If you do, I'd love to hear about how it manifests for you. I made a video today of my exerience:

it surely sounds amazing. and it sounds as if it takes a great deal of courage.
off-thread, I'm writing to ask your permission: I discovered your Michael channeling regarding the 5th monad. It is speaking deeply to me and I would like to write a post for my blog.
I plan to use the channeling as a jumping-off point for my own awareness -- I think I may be moving from the 5th to the 6th monad now.
so, though I know you're busy with your fast and all, I wondered if you would like to read it before I post it--since it came from your channeling.
another option would be that I could post it [it's not ready yet-- it may go up tomorrow or the next day] and you could read it at AtI and, if there are any parts you're not content with, I would edit it accordingly.
