Male and Female energy are symbolized by the yin/yang circle and are otherwise known as "focused" and "creative" energy, respectively.   Focused energy leads one to naturally focus on task accomplishment, details and direct action, whereas create energy leads one to focus on atmosphere, the bigger picture, and creating a space where things can blossom.  There is no "better" in this; one requires the other and in fact creates the other over time.  This is the meaning of the yin/yang symbol.

Each soul has its own distict ratio of creative and focused energy.  This does not change from lifetime to lifetime.  It adds a certain flavor and focus for the soul.  This does not mean that all lifetimes will be experienced the same way or that a highly focused soul will never be creative.  There is always balance and range of choice.  It is simply a basic energy that seeks expression.

Everything in the universe that has consciousness - and everything does - has a "male" energy and a "female" energy as part of it, otherwise known as focused and creative.  A human automaton - a physical body without a soul inhabiting it - would have its natural energy match both its sex and the natural aggressiveness a human has.  Animals show this automatically.  However, during incarnation, the soul infuses the DNA with its own native energy, which includes creative/focused energy as well as all of the rest of the energetic choices known as the overleaves.

Both male and female (creative and focused) energy can be extremely powerful when fully manifested.   Creative energy, because of its diffuse nature, has the quality of unpredictability.  It can go anywhere; it is the land of unbridled possibilities, creative potential, and affecting the universe from within.  Focused energy can be like a laser, creating change with precision.  Both are necessary and valuable, and neither is lighter or "better" than the other.  However, sometimes different situations and outcomes call more for one than the other.  That is why it is good to be in touch with both energies within yourself.

Those with a high creative energy are in general more able to multitask and see the forest from the tries.  On the other side, with contracted energy, they can be less dependable as they are easily distracted and can become a maelstrom of unfocused emotions and thoughts they do not know how to move forward.

Focused energy tends to follow a direct road, from point A to point B.  This energy can be as powerful as a tank, directly accomplishing a task with precision and without distraction.  It is a wonderful energy to have access to when a task must be done or when you need to be more in your body. Constricted male energy is very blundering and confrontational: not seeing all sides of the situation and not being open to any other possibility other than the one being pursued.

In an overleaves chart, you are given a ratio, such as 39% male energy and 61% female energy.

The majority of people are fairly even in terms of balance: between 40% and 60% of each.  This means that both energies are accessible.  This is a more "comfortable" choice and makes it in general easier to interact with others.  A high concentration - say 90% - of one energy makes the other energy more inaccessible and so there is difficulty bringing it forward when that energy is most helpful.  It also creates intensity as, like a magnet, it tends to be polarizing.  There will be an attraction to those of the opposite male/female ratio.

There is a general tendency - but not a rule - for the ratio of sex chosen in lifetimes to somewhat match the male/female energy.  Those with high female energy will tend to have more female lifetimes.  This is often chosen for comfort.  However, by the time the mature and old soul perceptions are explored, the "other sex" is explored more for balance in such cases.
